How It Started …

I guess that you could say that it started with a love story between Paul Ringwood and Joan Crawford, our parents. Two Auburnians, the charismatic and athletic Paul - and Joanie the studious, stylish and sweet, met at East High School in the 1940s.

A Love Story / Musings — Ringwood Family Tree

In some ways this website is just a continuation of my Mother’s love. She demonstrated to all of us (in words and actions) the gift of family. Her faith, strengthened our faith in times of profound loss, her joys and our successes became family celebrations. She cared about the little things / details, like addresses and birthdays, chronicled in her famous monthly “Ringwood Reviews”. And she card about the big things but nothing was more important than family illustrated in “The Sun Still Rises”. Her stories became our stories and our stories her stories. “I Just Made It” is a collection of reflective pieces written by my siblings.

May the RFT be a tribute to my parents and an expression of love for my siblings and their families. I look back … filled with gratitude and I look forward … filled with hope and all the while in the middle I am having lots of fun exploring just “What It Means To Be Ringwood”.
