Happy 1st Birthday Thomas George Ringwood AKA Tommy Terrific.  Love, The Fannings

Irish went to the vet this week.  We were concerned because she seemed to have some tenderness in her tummy but guess what - she’s quite alright - just a touch of arthritis.

Happy New Year

1986 has certainly begun with loads of good news:  Tom and Marguerite’s new baby, Jack and Ceecy’s wedding and Dave and Mary’s wedding which according to the latest news I’ve heard will be Oct. 11th.  I’ve made reservations for all of us at the Ramada Inn in Saddle River for Aug. 22 and 23rd. The rehearsal dinner will be there also on the 22nd of Aug. Christmas is just a lovely memory now.  It has quieted down considerably in a week. The tree is down and the parlor is stripped. Peter is painting it for me before he goes back to school. Thank you all for making the holidays so great for me.  I loved it and loved having all visit. The children are all beautiful. They are the ones that make the holidays so special.

I had good news today.  Barb Donahue called me with the announcement that Bob finally passed the DC dental boards and is now ready to practice dentistry.  It has been a little sad for me at work this month. Mr. Graney (Ted and Jack’s father) lives at the nursing home now. He’s very disoriented and restless.  Tomorrow Sue Baird’s mother is comings. She has terminal cancer. It's hard for me to accept the fact that these people who were always so charming and vital ar enow dependent on others.  On the lighter side, Bernie still have everyone wrapped around her little finger. Today we changed her furniture around (bed to the wall and chair facing the door). That way she can watch people gong by.  There was a big mystery last Sunday. When I was ready to co to church, I tried to put on my high black boots but they were about two sizes too small. I decided somehow during the holidays someone went home wearing my boots.  Sure enough, I was talking with Marguerite and she said “I thought my boots felt funny.” She had mine but we made the switch today. The Thomases and the Mike Ringwoods are coming for their God-son’s birthday celebration next Monday.  We;ll celebrate before he goes back to Clarkson on the 15th. I’ll see Bob’s team play this Friday. It’s the first I will have seen this year. He’s not getting much playing time but deserves a lot of credit for hanging in there.

Again, thank you all for the lovely thoughtful Christmas gifts.  There isn’t anything I need to or care to exchange. The no-smoking campaign is going alright but I’ve had moment sof being crazy! Last Saturday I told Bob I didn’t dare go grocery shopping because I knew I would buy a package of cigarettes so Bob did the shopping. However, I don’t think I’ll be able to do that every week.

God bless you - I love you all.

Mom

Paul, I’m sorry about the Giants.
