Welcome Mary and Good Luck Uncle Ed
(Mom kidding Uncle Ed)
The space above reserved for the bridal picture is being used to portray the very important people in the lead story. Sorry about the lady in the middle. I bet Mary’s picture will be available for the November issue. In the meantime I think it is high time you all heard from me. Thank you all so much for making Mary and David’s wedding so great. Jack wrote Bernie a great letter describing it more eloquently and I. I am always so proud of all of you. Are you tired of hearing me repeat the same things over and over? Certain things about October 11 re very vivid - David sitting in my room for a quiet chat before he dressed before the wedding, the last minute hustle of who is ringing with whom to church - the astonishing sight of Kelly so grown up coming down the aisle and then Mary - she was so beautiful! The children were all beautiful at the reception and seemed to have a great time - the Brady’s from Ireland (I understand that Ruthie Katz fixed them up with all the tours of Washington etc) David’s red sneakers and loads of dancing. Sunday brunch was fun too and I was glad to have a little bit more time to talk with everyone before my tearful goodbyes. Sorry about that. Part of it is from being tired. Bob took Peter to the airport and I had a nap until Bob returned. Then we had brunch again for supper.
NEWLYWEDS
Mary and David stopped in Tuesday night. They had honeymoon pictures and they look great - obviously very happy!
AWARDS
The Sheridans and Hoerchers: for two trips from Rochester and an overnight with the children. Mike: for an outstanding job as toastmaster at the rehearsal dinner. Tom and Marguerite: most enthusiastic partiers. Pete: quiet dependability. Bob: for no complaints after three straights nights of ham for dinner.
THANKSGIVING
I am taking reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. Any and all are invited. Dinner will be served at 4pm. Please let me know by mid-November. If you can’t make it, please stop in after dinner.
UNCLE ED UPDATE
Last week I sensed that Aunt Marg needed a buddy and quickly made arrangements to visit over the weekend. I felt good about the trip. We spent all of our time at the hospital with Uncle Ed and I saw improvement each day. By yesterday when I left, I felt really good about him and Aunt Marg called tonight with the great news that he is coming home on thursday. Jack was a very accommodating chauffeur. I saw their apartment. It’s terrific but some of you may not know that Ceecy grandmother is very ill and Ceecy has been in West Virginia since last Monday. Jack, you were so considerate of Aunt Marg and me. Thank you. I hope Ceecy is able to be back with you soon. Are you taking your vitamine C? LATEST UPDATE: I have just talked with Aunt Nancy and the coming home day was postponed until Friday.
Pauly, you're the only one I haven’t talked with since Dave’s wedding. I hope you are OK. I will call you tomorrow night. I love you all - have a happy Halloween and don’t let the goblins get you.
God bless everyone,
Mom, Joan, Joanie, Gramma, Whatever
